Hydroderm VS
Other Skin Care Products How You Can Have Great
Skin
Let's compare Hydroderm VS other skin care products on the
market. Their "fast-acting" wrinkle reducer is not the most
expensive, but at $48.95 per ounce, I would want to be sure
that it worked, before I bought it.
Since, I also believe that my
skin's health is of the utmost importance, I want to know that
the ingredients are safe. So, let's start with safety. I won't
bore you with the complete list of ingredients. I'll just give
you some of the highlights.
Parabens and
Alcohols
When you compare Hydroderm VS
other skin care products, the number of parabens seems shocking
and unnecessary. Parabens are the most commonly used
preservatives in cosmetics.
There is quite a bit of controversy surrounding their use,
since they are mild endocrine disruptors. In other words, they
interfere with the body's natural production of hormones. But,
even if you don't have a problem with parabens or even the six
different ones in one creams which seems a bit overkill to
me.
The paraben that really
worries me is called "sodium methyl-paraben". In some
countries, its use in cosmetics has been banned, because it can
have a de-pigmenting affect, which negatively alters your
appearance and can make you more susceptible to UV damage from
the sun.
Vegetable based alcohols are
fine and necessary for the mixture of some natural substances.
Petroleum-based alcohols, like ethanol, strip the skin's
natural oils…and don't give anything back.
Placenta and Amniotic
Fluid
Maybe, it's just me. I have a
problem with these ingredients. I don't care what the source
is. I'm not rubbing them all over my face. The company includes
placenta and amniotic fluid because of their protein content.
But, when you compare Hydroderm VS other skin care products;
you see that there are better, more effective protein
sources.
Collagens, Citric Acid
and Urea
I will give them this. They
tried to include a lot of different proteins in their wrinkle
reducer. Too bad they aren't the kind of proteins that are
useful to the skin's cells. Collagen production decreases with
age, but you can't replace it with cow collagen. It just
doesn't work.
Like ethanol, citric acid
strips the skin's natural oils, causing excessive dryness,
itching and burning. Urea is a waste product that has been used
in the past to soften hard skin on the soles of the feet. Is
the skin on your face that tough? I doubt it.
One of the things that I
noticed when I was comparing Hydroderm VS other skin care
products was that it does not contain a moisturizer. I think
that's a mistake.
